No less than 26 people, including ladies and kids, were killed and over twelve harmed in occurrences of lightning strikes crosswise over Bihar in most recent 24 hours, an authority said here on Monday.
Passings were accounted for from Vaishali, Patna, Rohtas, Saran, Buxar, Bhojpur, Gaya, Samastipur, Siwan, Araria and Aurangabad regions on Sunday, Bihar State Disaster Department official Anirudh Kumar said.
The state government has declared a remuneration of Rs 4 lakh to the family of every sufferer.
Lightning strikes amid the June-September storm season are normal crosswise over Bihar, with bamboo and grass huts more at hazard.
Bihar got overwhelming rainfall on Sunday, and the Meteorological Department has conjecture comparable conditions on Monday too.
