The accused of Sabarmati Express train bomb blast and Hizbul Mujahideen operative Gulzar Ahmed Wani released by a Barabanki court on Saturday. The blast was held in year 2000.
The court acquitted Wani and co-accused Mobin due to lack of proof.
“The court of additional sessions Judge MA Khan acquitted both the accused of all the charges as the prosecution could not establish any of the charges levelled against them,” advocate MS Khan stated.
In year 2001, Wani was detained by Delhi Police for carrying bombs and incriminating materials. Currently, the culprit is in prison in Lucknow and he is a native of Peeparkari area of Srinagar.
The bomb blast took place on 15 August, 2000 when the train was going from Muzaffarpur to Ahmedabad. At Least nine people died in the bomb blast.
