Around 200 cartons of alcohol, worth around Rs. 15 lakh, were seized from a mini truck on Thursday amid a joint operation by police and state Excise department sleuths, an Excise department official said.
"Acting on a tip off, a joint team of excise department and police officials nabbed a canter (mini truck) near Ford car show room under Refinery police station," District Excise Officer Chandra Shekhar said.
During a search, Haryana-manufactured English liquor in 200 cartons, was recovered..
"Rinku, resident of village Pilua Disrict Etah, has confessed that he was smuggling the liqour from Palwal for delivery in Agra," the authority said.
As per police, the proprietor of the truck has additionally been reserved in the smuggling of liqour.
