The affiliation of 180 ITIs has been withdrawn by the government in three years. The Minister of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship has claimed that Arunachal Pradesh will have four new ITIs, Tripura and Mizoram will have three, Nagaland, Manipur, Meghalaya will have two each and Sikkim will have one ITI.
In the last three years, around 180 industrial training institutes have been withdrawn. The information was revealed on the basis of complaints and recommendations of respective states by the Parliament.
Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Minister Rajiv Pratap Rudy in a written reply in the Lok Sabha said, "Yes, it is a fact that more private industrial training institutes as compared to the government industrial training institutes have been set up during the last three years and the current year
He added that, "During the last 3 years, a total of 180 ITIs have been de-affiliated on the basis of complaints and recommendation of respective states."
The data revealed that, “Around 402 private ITIs were established in 2013 while in 2014 around 1,213 and in 2015 1,124 institutes”. The process for current year will finish by August 28.
According to data, 12,341 ITIs (Government 2,048 and private 10,293) are admitting trainees in the affiliated trade/units of National Council for Vocational Training (NCVT) in the country.
“The Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, DGT, has taken some initiatives to monitor the quality and performance of ITIs,” said the minister
These incorporate quality change device ISO 29990, cooperation of state government agents in the assessment, activity for good atmosphere of ITIs, farthest point on least exchanges and most extreme units for new organizations, data innovation lab for all ITIs, skilled workers teachers preparing testament made obligatory for ITI educators and accreditation procedure of ITIs through online web entry.
The Minister of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Rajiv Pratap Rudy said,"The government's arrangement of setting up 22 new ITIs in the North Eastern district to enhance ability improvement framework of the locale."
Rudy said, "Arunachal Pradesh will have four new ITIs, Tripura and Mizoram will have three, Nagaland, Manipur, Meghalaya will have two each and Sikkim will have one ITI."
