13 dead, 6 injured in bar fire in France


Rouen: Local report has conveyed that at the capital of the French region of Normandy, 13 people have died following a fire ravaged and destroyed a bar in Rouen. Most of the victims were allegedly young people attending a birthday party. Paris report has also further conveyed that, the fire commenced around midnight at a bar where young people had been gathering to celebrate a private birthday party in the northern city of Rouen. Firefighters responded to the emergency, and have announced 13 people dead so far.

The fire was supposedly caused by an accidental explosion on site. Reports also have further conveyed that, authorities expect the death toll to rise. The blaze broke out at around midnight at the basement room of the Cuba Libre bar in the city centre during a birthday celebration. An inquiry is underway to establish the cause of the fire. One source close to the investigation conveyed that candles on a birthday cake may have sparked the blaze. The secretary general of the Seine-Maritime prefecture Yvan Cordier has also further conveyed that, one of the injured was in a critical condition.
